  • Waders

Last week there was a change in the weather – some rain and wind from NE. In the mornings there were passerines by the Lake vesijärvi – Yellow Wagtails, Tree Pipits, Swallows and Martins. There were also waders migrating but I had busy times at the office. I still managed to see Caspian Tern one morning. Right now I should be birding by the lake and by the fields but…

  • At the White-tailed Eagle nest

Recent years there have been several inland sightings of White-tailed Eagle in Päijät-Häme, Finland (Lahti region) in summer, during the breeding season. I’ve managed to add some new birds to the year-list. I heard one Grey Plover when I tried to see wader…

  • Daisies and flies

Here is a video of my favourite theme – Macro shots of flowers and flies. July is half way and I have found only one new bird to the year list – Two-barred Crossbill. I have made only few trips with bicycle including one night cycling but that was just a waste of time. The days and nights are quiet so you have to wake up at 4 Am to…
